PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for finding a document processor on a network. SOLUTION: A multicast address data and a local identification data are stored at first in a data storage device of the document processor. Then, a probe message is received from a data processor via the network. The probe message corresponds to the stored multicast address data. Then, a probe identification data correlated with the probe message is verified using the local identification data.
