LUBRICATING FLUID FILLING METHOD, AND HYDRODYNAMIC FLUID BEARING AND SPINDLE MOTOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrodynamic fluid bearing for allowing accurate determination of a fluid supplied condition by checking lightness and darkness near a fluid supplied portion before filling lubricating fluid supplied under a pressure reduced atmosphere into a clearance portion with the release of atmospheric pressure, and to provide its lubricating fluid filling and inspecting method. SOLUTION: This lubricating fluid filling method uses a sleeve 4 having an opening face on one side for relatively and rotatably holding a shaft 5 and a bearing clearance 8 held between the shaft 5 and the sleeve 4 for filling the lubricating fluid 2 in the bearing clearance 8. It comprises a step of supplying the lubricating fluid 2 to the clearance portion 8 and the sleeve opening face, and a step of emitting a light on the sleeve opening face at its upper part and measuring the lightness of a reflected light after the fluid supplying step. The supplied condition of the lubricating fluid is determined in accordance with the lightness pattern of the opening face on the upper face of the sleeve with the reflected light.
