PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for accumulating much heat as much as possible in a heat accumulation device, in an internal combustion engine equipped with a heat accumulation device. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine equipped with a heat accumulation device is structured such that a part of a heat medium flowing through a heat medium flow passage is stored in the heat accumulation device at a predetermined storage time; the storage time is updated every time the storage processing is completed; and the initial value of the storage time is set earlier than a usual one.
