PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk unit which can stop a disk at a correct unloading position when it is recognized that disk unloading is completed and a request for unloading the disk is issued again. SOLUTION: When it is determined that the disk D unloading is completed, if the disk D is in a housing, and an eject button is pushed and the request for disk unloading is accepted, the disk D is unloaded by a moving mechanism and the moving mechanism is stopped when it is determined that the disk D reaches the correct unload complete position by monitoring detection switches R2 and R3. When the disk D stays at the correct unload position and the request for disk unloading is accepted, the disk at the correct unload position moves only a little bit, then stops at the correct unload complete position.
