The method involves providing a profile part (3) e.g. bumper, with recesses or gaps for varying rigidity of the profile part in a direction of a longitudinal axis (L). A semi-finished material (1) is allowed to pass through a manufacturing device (2) along a preset path (X). The semi-finished material is formed at the profile part that extends along the longitudinal axis during passing of the manufacturing device. The recesses or gaps are provided on the semi-finished material such that the rigidity of the profile part varies along the longitudinal axis.
