The method involves injecting fuel into a suction tube in accordance with a corrected injection amount to form an air-fuel mixture, which is supplied to a combustion chamber (1) of a combustion engine. A compensation quantity is determined in accordance with a transition compensation model dependent on the temperature of the tube. The temperature of the tube is subjected with a temperature difference equivalent, where the compensation quantity is determined in accordance with the model. An independent claim is also included for a device for adjusting a transition compensation in a combustion engine.
