摘要 A metallic monolith substrate is provided to maximize the catalytic reaction area and mass-produce the metallic monolith substrate in a simple manufacturing process by departing from a method of expanding the catalyst coating area of cell walls only and allowing a separate catalyst to present in cells. A metallic monolith substrate comprises a metal fiber layer(2) put on one or both faces of a metal foil(1) and rolled together with the metal foil in a coil shape. The metal fiber layer is adhered onto the metal foil by pressing or brazing. The metallic monolith substrate further comprises spacers(3) formed on one or both faces of the metal foil to hold a gap between the metal fiber layers. The spacers are made by bending the metal foil. The spacers are separate metal elements adhered to the metal foil. The spacers are burrs formed on a surface of the metal foil at a predetermined interval by punching. The metal fiber is a metal fiber selected from the group consisting of stainless steel, a Cu alloy, an Fe-Cr alloy, a Ti alloy, an Ni alloy, and an Ni-Fe alloy. The metal foil is a metal foil selected from the group consisting of aluminum, an Al alloy, and stainless steel.
