The image forming system includes an image forming apparatus comprising an image forming unit and a terminal, the system comprising a setting unit which sets a time taken until image formation is started, the time being based on at least one of identification information of an image forming apparatus, identification information of a terminal, and identification information of a user of the terminal; and a controller which controls a start of image formation, based on the time which is set by the setting unit.
