HORN ARRAY TYPE ANTENNA FOR DUAL LINEAR POLARIZATION

A horn array type antenna for dual linear polarization is provided to improve antenna performance by forming a pair of protrusions protruded inward in a tapered part of a horn. A horn array type antenna for dual linear polarization includes a plurality of horns, a plurality of polarization filtering units(20), and first and second polarization guides. First and second polarizations are incident on the plurality of horns. The plurality of polarization filtering units are installed in the plurality of horns respectively to separate the incident first and second polarizations. The first polarization guide guides the first polarizations separated in the polarization filtering units. The second polarization guide guides the second polarizations separated in the polarization filtering units. The horn has a square outer opening opened outward, a square inner opening opened toward the polarization filtering unit, and a protrusion(17) formed at the inner opening to be protruded toward a center region. An upper part of the polarization filtering unit has the shape of a square box, and a lower part thereof has the shape of a rectangular box with a width smaller than that of the upper part. The second polarizations are transmitted to the second polarization guide through the lower part of the polarization filtering unit. The first polarizations are transmitted to the first polarization guide through a passage(27) on one of four walls formed at the upper part of the polarization filtering unit.
