A method and an apparatus for optimizing an adaptive channel parameter and a disk drive using the same are provided to set variable ranges of the parameter via a plurality of resisters and to optimize the channel in the restricted areas so as to reduce a defect of the read/write channel of the disk drive. An apparatus for optimizing an adaptive channel parameter comprises a parameter optimizing control part(310), a plurality of resister blocks(320), and a ROM(50). The resister blocks is composed of first, second, third, and fourth resisters(320-1,320-2,320-3,320-4). The parameter optimizing control part and the resister blocks are embedded in a system control part. The parameter optimizing control part reads a set value from the ROM per parameter and stores the set value in the first resister.
