The process involves providing a knitted fabric (11) i.e. warp tricot, with a variety pores, and providing the fabric as a substrate. The fabric is dipped in a coating material (13) e.g. melamine resin, where the fabric is made of polyester, nylon and polypropylene. The fabric permeated with the coating material is pressed, and the fabric is dried to release the pores in the fabric and to harden a shadow screen (18). The resin is selected from a group consisting of acrylic resin, urea formaldehyde resin and resin emulsion. An independent claim is also included for a shadow screen with a predetermined light transmission.
