The style set (810) includes style information (830) on whether to apply predetermined style information, which is separate from style information defined by a manufacturer of the storage medium, to the dialog information (530). Accordingly, an output style of the subtitle data can be changed in a variety of ways. Also, a special style can be applied in order to emphasise a portion of the subtitles.
