<p>A low noise heating, ventilating and/or air conditioning system is provided to improve the system efficiency and to reduce noise and vibration by using sinewave commutation in a motor controller. A low noise heating, ventilating and/or air conditioning system(400) comprises a system controller(402), a motor controller(404), an air-moving component(410), and a stationary assembly(412), a rotatable assembly(414) in magnetic coupling relation to the stationary assembly, and a permanent magnet motor(406) having a shaft connected to the air-moving component. The motor controller performs sinewave commutation in response to one or more control signals received from the system controller to create continuous phase currents in the permanent magnet motor for driving the air-moving component. The stationary assembly includes plural phase windings, and the motor controller energizes power to each phase windings at the same time.</p> |
