The device has a system control unit (10) and a program memory (40) for storing a program (72) for a positioning function. The control unit loads the stored program for processing in a main memory (16) by an evaluation and control unit. A converting device (50) modifies the program created for the positioning function by providing correction values in a control code of the program, where the converting device has a positioning system (1) as a system specific program. The correction values are determined for the positioning system. An independent claim is also included for a method for correction of a positioning system.
