An electronic device booting method and a booting authentication method are provided to achieve system booting at the same time according to a host CPU(Central Processing Unit) and booting authentication according to a security module to boot an electronic device rapidly with safety. A host CPU(16) starts system booting by using boot information in response to a reset or power-on event of an electronic device(10). A security module(12) controls the host CPU when an authentication starting instruction is not transmitted from the host CPU to the security module after a lapse of predetermined time from a time when the reset or power-on event of the electronic device is generated.
