<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image processing suitable for diagnosis corresponding to a change in photographing region and photographing condition. <P>SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus includes: a histogram creating means for creating a histogram showing the frequency of each interval of a radiation image signal; an object histogram separating means for separating an object histogram corresponding to an object area from the histogram; a threshold determining means for determining a predetermined proportion value of the sum of frequencies in the object histogram as the threshold of frequency; a desired image signal area determining means for determining a desired image signal frequency on the basis of comparison between the frequency of each interval of the image signal in the object histogram and the threshold of the frequency; an image processing condition determining means for determining an image processing condition for the radiation image on the basis of a characteristic amount of the image signal included in the desired image signal area; and an image processing means for processing the radiation image according to the image processing condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
