COLOR FILTER, COLORING COMPOSITION FOR COLOR FILTER AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

A coloring composition for a color filter, a color filter formed by using the composition, and a liquid crystal display device containing the color filter are provided to optimize the phase difference in thickness direction of the each coloring pixel. A coloring composition for a color filter comprises a transparent resin; an organic pigment which is dispersed in the transparent resin; and a retardation controller which comprises a compound having the function increasing retardation. Preferably the retardation controller is an organic compound having a plane structure group having at least one crosslinking group; and the organic pigment has an average primary particle size of 5-40 nm. Preferably the coloring pixel of the color filter is a green pixel, or green and red pixels.
