A system and a method for providing a P2P-based video call service, and a communication method and a recording medium thereof are provided to perform PIN(Personal Identification Number) authentication through an IPTV(Internet Protocol Television), connect with an IP binder by using a video call client installed in an IP STB(Set Top Box), and provide the P2P-based ubiquitous video call service between digital TVs connected to a portable terminal and the STB during movement, thereby providing a one-to-one video/audio call function to an IPTV viewer. An EPG(Electronic Program Guide) system provides EPG including a video call channel to a UE(User Equipment). An IP(Internet Protocol) binder(120) receives member subscription information for the video call service based on P2P from the video call client of the UE, stores the member subscription information in a DB, and provides the IP address information and port number information of a pre-registered call-enable person list in response to a video call request message received from the UE. A data broadcasting system has a DM(Data Manager) for receiving information periodically updated from the DA(Data Agent) of a contents provider and generates data for data broadcasting and PSI/IS(Program Specific Information/Service Information) information received from the contents provider. A compressing/multiplexing system(110) performs the multiplexing of the data for data broadcasting and the PSI/SI information, and packetizes and outputs the multiplexed stream. A network switch system(170) transmits the IP-packetized signal received from the compressing/multiplexing system, and the EPG to plural UEs through an IP network in a multicast method. An RP(Return Pass) server system is connected to the UE through the IP network and a return channel, records the log of the UE, and transceives a video call authentication request message in a unicast method.
