CATALOG MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR VIDEO ON DEMAND SYSTEM

A method for an interactive media services system is provided for implementi ng a plurality of media to a user through an interactive media services client device. The client device is coupled to a programmable media services server device. The method of the present invention includes implementing an interactive media guide. The interactive media guide is presented by the client device to the user. A system operator is provided with an interface t o the programmable media services server. The interface for the system operato r provides control options to allow the system operator to configure a plurali ty of catalogs for the interactive media guide. The interface additionally provides control options to allow the system operator to configure a procedu re for dictating the manner in which the plurality of catalogs are stored and distributed to a plurality of the client devices.
