A monitor camera device and its control method are provided to solve a problem that because a lens cover is mounted after the focus of a camera lens is adjusted, the focused lens is changed because of the lens cover. A focus adjustment unit(110) adjusts the focus of a camera. A controller(120) controls the focus adjustment unit to adjust focusing after a cover is mounted. An input unit is provided at an outer side of a position where the cover is mounted on a base. When a focus adjustment performing command is inputted via the input unit, the controller controls the focus adjustment unit to perform focus adjustment. An input unit receives a user instruction for the focus adjustment operation. When the focus adjustment performing time is inputted before the cover is mounted, the controller controls the focus adjustment unit to perform focus adjustment after the performing time.
