An FFS(Fringe Field Switching) LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to form a common electrode and a pixel electrode in the same plane with respect to first and second electrodes, thereby preventing deterioration of image quality caused by afterimages and flickers. An upper substrate uses a transparent glass substrate or a plastic substrate. A lower substrate uses a transparent glass substrate or a plastic substrate as facing the upper substrate. On the lower substrate, a transparent electrode is divided into upper and lower parts as leaving a space for a gate bus line(2). In one side, a first electrode is disposed as a common electrode(1a) of a plane form and a second electrode is disposed as a pixel electrode(8a) of a slit form. In the other side, a first electrode is disposed as a pixel electrode(8b) of a plane form and a second electrode is disposed as a common electrode(1b) of a slit form. A common bus line(3) is disposed to contact the first common electrode and a partial area directly. On the gate bus line, an active layer(6) is disposed and source/drain electrodes(5) and a data bus line(4) are formed. When applying a gate signal to a cell, signals having different polarities are applied at the first or second pixel electrode of the upper and lower sides within one sub pixel. |
