An environment recognizing method and a correction control method of an image forming apparatus are provided to prevent degradation of a print quality according to various environments, and obtain image of high resolution regardless of ambient temperature and humidity. When a printer starts to be driven, a fixed voltage is applied to a charging device(S50), and a portion beyond a width of a developing device at an end of an OPC(Organic Photo Conductor) of an LSU(Laser Scanning Unit) is exposed(S52). The fixed voltage is applied to the developing device(S54), the current flowing between a gap ring and the exposed portion is fed back, and a corresponding voltage value is A/D-converted(S56). An environment is recognized from a lookup table based on the detected ADC value(S58), and a transfer voltage, a charging voltage, a developing voltage and a fixing temperature are controlled based on the recognized environment(S62).
