PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to obtain a high-strength coke while decreasing the amount of valuable high-quality coal as a coke production raw material and increasing the use of inexpensive low-quality coal. SOLUTION: The coke production method of the present invention comprises the dry distillation of a coking coal, wherein the coking coal at least contains≥16 mass% high coal rank coal,≥25 mass% low coal rank low-flow coal and a coal essentially free from ash in 100 mass% of the coking coal.
