PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive which can stably lead in focus to an innermost recording layer of an optical disk with no contacting of an objective lens to the optical disk which is wobbling. SOLUTION: The objective lens 116 is brought close to the optical disk 101 rotated by a spindle motor 102 with a constant speed V1 of percentage smaller than the working distance, and the objective lens 116 is further brought close a certain distance from the time when a focal point of a laser beam reached a disk surface and stopped. The optical disk 101 performs one revolution from the time when the focal point has reached the disk surface, and further the objective lens 116 is moved in the direction which keeps away from the optical disk 101 at a speed V3 from the time when carrying out predetermined angle rotation corresponding an FG number which indicates a motor rotating-phase.
