PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the whole of a fluid bearing device while keeping sealing performance and fixing force simultaneously by avoiding the situation that seal formation surface and fixing surface with the other member engage each other. SOLUTION: The fluid bearing device is characterized in that the fixing surface with the other member is arranged in the peripheral surface 8a of an outside extension 8 extending outward radially in such a way that it exceeds a portion from a base portion 7 of housing 4 to seal clearance 16, in that an opening 8b penetrated radially is arranged at a location facing the seal clearance 16 of the outside extension 8, and in that this opening 8b is closed with a closing member 17 after oiling.
