<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a text data display apparatus which can deal with a plurality of character code displays without increasing the number of bits with respect to 8-bit original data and capable of simplifying a processing. <P>SOLUTION: The text data display apparatus comprises: a language selection means; a character code conversion means for converting a value of a character code of an input text into a value of a character code in a specific unused area of a first character code set if the value of the character code of the input text is a value of a character code of non-common part character data of a second character code set which is different from the first character code set when an output from the language selection means indicates a language corresponding to the second character code set, and in other cases, not converting of the value of the character code of the input text; and a character data output means for referring to an extended first character code set in which non-common part character data are allocated to the specific unused area of the first character code set and then outputting character data corresponding to an output of the character code conversion means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
