The system has a display surface (38) constituted by a windscreen (41) and including a coating e.g. light-emitting coating, that emits visible light, when the coating is excited by an ultraviolet (UV) light beam having a predetermined wavelength. A laser projection device (LPD) generates the UV light beam and directs the UV light beam onto the coating, where the information is displayed on the display surface when the visible light is emitted by the coating. An independent claim is also included for a method for displaying information within a vehicle interior.
