<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electro-optical device capable of preventing problems caused by insufficient strength of a polished substrate. <P>SOLUTION: An electro-optical device is manufactured by the method including the following steps. They are: (a) forming a barrier layer 32 on a glass substrate 31; (b) laminating a glass substrate 11 with an adhesive 35 on the surface of the glass substrate 31 where the barrier layer 32 is formed; (c) polishing the glass substrate 11 to reduce the thickness; and sequentially, (d) laminating the composite counter substrate 50 comprising the glass substrate 31 and the glass substrate 11 with an element substrate opposing to each other, and disposing a liquid crystal between the composite counter substrate 50 and the element substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
