<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-vehicle control system that can determine the cause of the decrease in the performance, while it carries out failure diagnosis operation by temporarily stopping measurement and control of a vehicle to retain safety of the vehicle, when the decrease in performance of a radar device is detected. <P>SOLUTION: This radar device 10 comprises: a transmission/reception means of an electromagnetic wave; a signal processing section 7 for measuring the distance and a relative velocity between a vehicle and a target object 50, according to a transmission signal and a reception signal; a performance decrease detecting section 8 for detecting the decrease in performance of the radar device 10, according to the processing result by the signal processing section 7; and a failure detection section 9 for carrying out diagnosis operation of a failure of the radar device 10, by stopping the measurement of the target object 50 with the radar device 10. When the performance decrease detecting section 8 detects decrease in the performance, the measurement of the target object 50 by the radar device 10 and the control of the vehicle by the vehicle control device 20 are stopped, and then the failure detecting section 9 performs diagnostic operation of the failure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
