<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine having a first variable display means and a second variable display means, which is capable of reducing the opportunities of invalid start winning into a winning part with a higher probability of entrance of game media and transmitting a command to specify a variable display means to variably display symbols only once at the start of the variable display. <P>SOLUTION: A game control means executes the variable display of second special symbols in a second special symbol display 8b based on the entrance of a game ball into a second start winning hole 14, and confirms whether the game state is a high-base state or not if game balls enter a first start winning hole 13 and the second start wining hole 14 respectively before termination of the variable display of the second special symbols. If the game state is the high-base state, the variable display of the second special symbols is preferentially executed regardless of the order of start winning.
