PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the storage method of a brush used for cleaning of a substrate for a magnetic recording medium, with which cleaning can be carried out with a high cleaning finish. SOLUTION: The storage method of the brush 3 composed of a polyvinyl alcohol sponge used for cleaning of the substrate for the magnetic recording medium comprises storing the brush 3 in a storage liquid containing hydrogen peroxide.
