PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the outer shell connection structure of a traveling guide, which is not damaged even due to repeated loads, by considering that a joint member composed of rubber, etc., useful in the folding structure of a traveling guide for guiding a sheetlike material such as a paper sheet traveling at a high speed is fatigued due to repeated loads caused by the rotation of the traveling guide roll. SOLUTION: A joint plate 35 by engagement of mutual tooth parts 35a is fixed to the connection part of outer shells 22a and 22b rotatably mounted on a core shaft 21. An oil seal 32 is interposed between the joint plate 35 and a sleeve 24 fitted to the core shaft 21 so as to disconnect the insides and outsides of the outer shells 22. Thus, even if the adjacent outer shells 22a and 22b are synchronously rotated by engagement of the mutual tooth parts 35a and the joint plate is repeatedly loaded by rotation of the outer shell 22b in a state inclined relatively to the outer shell 22a, the joint plate 35 is not damaged.
