<p>Disclosed is a nonwoven fabric which comprises an inorganic compound fiber having a small average fiber diameter and excellent heat resistance and has a suitable level of fluid resistance for use as a filtering material. For example, an inorganic compound fiber having heat resistance and a nano-order level of average fiber diameter is allowed to exist together with an inorganic compound fiber having a micro-order level of average fiber diameter at a specified ratio, thereby producing a non-woven fabric which contains an inorganic compound fiber (A) having a heat resistant temperature of 1000°C or higher and having an average fiber diameter ranging from 10 nm to 1 µm inclusive in an amount of 10 to 90 mass% inclusive relative to the total amount of the constituent components, which has an areal weight of 50 to 200 g/m2 inclusive, and which has a value produced by dividing a Gurley's P' value (sec.) as measured in accordance with JIS P8117 by an areal weight (g/m2) of 0.001 to 0.020 (sec m2/g) inclusive.</p> |
