A crozer for barrels is disclosed. The crozer 10 includes a mounting means for securing the crozer to an end of the barrel 12. At least a first cutting means 32 is rotatably associated with the mounting means. The cutting means is configured to form a groove, or croze 38 along an inside surface 36 of the barrel adjacent to the end, the groove is adapted to accommodate a barrel head.
