<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mechanism for recommending order, returns, and display by each store, based on the characteristics of the respective stores, the categories of books, and sales prediction by each book. <P>SOLUTION: A sales prediction system includes: a means for storing sales performance collected from the sales management terminals of the whole stores; a means for calculating the predicted sales of a book in the whole stores by each book in response to elapsed time after release, based on the sales performance of the books; and a means for predicting the sales of each book in each store through the use of ratios between the sales performance of the book in the categories of each store and the total sales performance of the book in the whole stores concerning the categories of the books, and ratios between the sales performance of the book in each store and the sales performance of the book in the whole stores by each book. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
