<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device capable of surely protecting a driving circuit against the static electricity intruding into a pixel array region in the case of employing a configuration in which the driving circuit and a protection circuit are respectively electrically connected to one end and other end of a signal line. <P>SOLUTION: The scanning line driving circuit 104 and the protection circuit 105 are respectively electrically connected to both ends of the scanning line 3a, passing through a pixel array region 10b and at the scanning line 3a, a first resistor 43 is inserted between diode elements 41, 42 of the pixel array region 10b and the protection circuit 105. A second resistor 49, whose resistance value is greater than the resistance value of the first resistor 43, is inserted between the pixel array region 10b and the scanning line drive circuit 104, The resistance value from the central position in the longitudinal direction of the scanning line 3a up to the scanning line driving circuit 104 is greater than the resistance value from the central position up to the diode elements 41, 42.
