SOLUTION: This heat insulating roof material A is constituted by forming a metallic roof material B constituted by forming male and female connection structures at upper and lower ends, forming folded-back pieces 15 by folding back end parts inward at one end fringes in the right and left directions, forming a lower connection part 14 forming a projecting part 18 inclined and protruding onto a side below water at the center of a decorative surface 4 on the decorative surface 4 on an outer side more than a tip of the folded-back piece 15, forming an upper connection part 19 formed by a protruding piece 20 protruding an end part onto an outer side more than the lower connection part 14 at the other end fringe and an abutting piece 20a hanging a tip of the protruding piece 20 downward, and forming a packing material E on a surface of the folded-back piece 15 of the lower connection part 14 or a rear surface of the upper connection part 19 and a heat insulating material C on a rear surface 5 other than the upper connection part 19 of the metallic roof material B.
