PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a display section from becoming dirty due to contacts with an ear or a face during call. SOLUTION: The casing of a cellular telephone is divided into a first casing 1 and a second casing 2, and the divided casings 1 and 2 are rotatably coupled to each other via a rotary connecting portion 3 having a rotary shaft along the longitudinal direction of the cellular telephone. A display unit 4 is provided on a front portion 1a of the first casing 1, a speaker unit 5 for voice communication is provided on a back surface portion 1b, and an operating unit 6 and a microphone unit 7 for voice communication are provided at a front portion 2a of the second casing 2. During standby, the display unit 4 and the operating unit 6 are at a rotary position on the same plane, and when the casings 1 and 2 are rotated and operated so that the speaker unit 5 at the back surface 1b of the first casing 1 and the microphone unit 7 of the second casing 2 are on the same plane in receiving a call, call response processing is automatically executed. Since a call can be made while the display unit 4 is positioned opposite to an ear or a face, the display unit 4 can be prevented from becoming dirty. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
