摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophobic spherical silica fine particle by which the fluidity of a toner can be improved and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The hydrophobic spherical silica fine particle is obtained by hydrophobic treatment containing such steps that an R<SP>4</SP>SiO<SB>3/2</SB>unit (wherein, R<SP>4</SP>is a 1-20C substituted or nonsubstituted univalent hydrocarbon group) is introduced into the surface of a hydrophilic spherical silica fine particle consisting of an SiO<SB>2</SB>unit which is obtained by hydrolyzing and condensing at least one kind of compounds selected from the group consisting of a tetrahydrocarbyloxysilane compound whose general formula (1) is denoted as Si(OR<SP>1</SP>)<SB>4</SB>(wherein, R<SP>1</SP>s are same or different and each is a 1-6C univalent hydrocarbon group) and its partially hydrolyzed and condensed product and subsequently an R<SP>6</SP><SB>3</SB>SiO<SB>1/2</SB>unit (wherein, R<SP>6</SP>s are same or different and each is a 1-20C substituted or nonsubstituted univalent hydrocarbon group) is introduced.
