<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission suppressing the deformation of a casing on which two sets of continuously variable transmission parts are mounted. <P>SOLUTION: The toroidal type continuously variable transmission comprises a supporting mechanism 11 provided with two sets of continuously variable transmission parts each having an input disc 2, an output disc 3 and a power roller 8 for supporting the power roller 8 of each continuously variable transmission part, the casing 10 mounted with the supporting mechanism 11 for storing the two sets of continuously variable transmission parts, an intermediate wall 37 mounted on the casing 10 for rotatably supporting the output discs of the two sets of continuously variable transmission parts, and actuators 25, 28 for reciprocating the supporting mechanism 11, the intermediate wall 37 being arranged between the two sets of continuously variable transmission parts.
