<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of magnifying small characters included in a character area by using a blank area around the character area. <P>SOLUTION: The image processor is provided with: an image separating part 120 for separating a character area 123, a non-character area 124 and a blank area 125 from inputted image data; a magnifying part 130 for magnifying the character area; and an image size determining part 150 for determining whether each area including the character area is placed within a recording sheet. The magnifying part 130 expands the character area 123 so as to make the blank area 125 small on the basis of an enlargement ratio. The image size determining part 150 confirms whether each area including the expanded character area 123 is placed within the recording sheet.
