<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual display device suitable for an observation device enabling three-dimensional observation from all surrounding directions and a display device capable of displaying observation images different according to a viewing angle and an individual viewer even without using a mechanically complex rotation mechanism or eyeglasses or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A main optical system 2 has a transparent medium 2 rotationally symmetric around a center axis 1 and having a refractive index larger than 1, and the transparent medium 2 has a first transmission surface 21, a first reflection surface 22 arranged nearer to an image surface side than the first transmission surface 21, and a second transmission surface 23 arranged nearer to the image surface side than the first reflection surface 22. In an image-formation optical system, in order that a light beam advances, luminous flux made incident on the main optical system 2 enters the transparent medium 2 through the first transmission surface 21, is reflected to the image surface side by the first reflection surface 22 arranged on an opposite side to the first transmission surface 21 while putting the center axis 1 in between, and goes out to the outside from the transparent medium 2 through the second transmission surface 23 arranged on the same side as the first reflection surface 22 with respect to the center axis 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
