<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel tank combining most important advantages of a circular fuel tank and a rectangular fuel tank and possessing a comparatively large fuel volume, a small remaining part volume and a sufficient road clearance. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel tank 1 is suited to be mounted to a vehicle frame 2 by at least a supporting bracket 3. The bracket 3 exposes a partially circular contact surface 4 with respect to the fuel tank 1. The fuel tank 1 is provided with two end gables 5 and 6 and an essentially cylindrical type casing 7 extending between the end gables 5 and 6. The fuel tank 1 has a first part 8 which has an essentially partially circular shape, faces a direction toward the vehicle frame 2 and is adapted for bearing with respect to the partially circular contact surface 4 on the supporting bracket 3, and a second part 9 which has an essentially rectangular shape and faces a direction away from the vehicle frame 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
