PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device capable of preventing degradation in characteristics and breakage of internal elements even when an communication distance is extremely short and a distance between reader/writer and RF tag suddenly comes closer, and suppressing loss of electric power to perform communication over a wide range. SOLUTION: A protective circuit is provided in the input side of the semiconductor device to make it possible to receive the electric power collected by an antenna circuit. The protective circuit utilizes a variable resistor which can change its resistance in accordance with the inputted electric power.
