Intended is to enable a pneumatic tire to retain a sufficient follow-up to a road surface at its treading face portion, while enhancing its transverse rigidity, thereby to improve its maneuvering stability. The pneumatic tire (1) has its carcass (20) of a bias structure formed of two carcass layers, in which polyethylene naphthalate cords are arranged at inclinations in opposite directions with respect to the tire circumferential direction. Moreover, the tread rubber (12) to contact with the road surface is made thinner in the thickness (B) at grounding ends (TE) than the thickness (A) in a tire equatorial plane (CL), and its thickness is decreased so gently that the tread rubber is the thickest in the tire equatorial plane (CL) and becomes gradually thinner toward the grounding ends (TE).
|
