The invention relates to a device for propelling a body, consisting of an assembly comprising at least two parallel planar conductive members electrically supplied with a variable current, said current being capable of generating electromagnetic forces in the same direction and applied to said conductive members which are remote from each other in order to generate a p/2 phase difference of the magnetic field between the point where said magnetic field is applied and the point where it is generated, thereby inducing a displacement of said conductive members and the movement of the body to which said assembly is connected.
