<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing for a rolling stock axle, which maintains constant rotating and lubricating performance of the bearing over a long time by adjusting the filling amount of a lubricant. <P>SOLUTION: The bearing for the rolling stock axle comprises: a stationary ring (an outer ring 1) normally kept in a nonrotating state; a rotating ring (an inner ring 3) rotatably arranged facing the stationary ring; a plurality of rolling elements (rollers) 5 built in to be rollable along between a plurality of raceway surfaces 1s, 3s formed at the facing surfaces of the stationary ring and rotating ring continuously in a circumferential direction; and a sealing mechanism for sealing the bearing interior partitioned between the stationary ring and the rotating ring, from the outside of the bearing, wherein the inside of the bearing is filled with a prescribed quantity of lubricant, and the volume of the lubricant to be filled with in the bearing is set to be less than 100% to the space volume Sc of a region near the sealing mechanism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
