<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide ions into a go-around orbit and to take out the ions from the go-around orbit, without exerting an effect on the action of the ions circulating on the go-around orbit. <P>SOLUTION: An ion introducing orbit 5 is installed so as to be coincided with an ion orbit (emitting orbit part 4c) after being bent at a fan-shaped electric field E1 existing on the go-around orbit 4. Then, when the ions are introduced, a voltage applied to an electrode part 11 is made zero to release the fan-shaped electric field E1, the ions made incident along the ion introducing orbit 5 straightly advance within the electrode part 11, and from an outlet end face of the electrode part 11, the ions are made to apparently go out in the similar direction and position as those along the go-around orbit 4. By this, it is not necessary to install a deflecting electrode for ion introduction and leading out on the go-around orbit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
