PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump device and a pump gate device making foreign matters pass through without being caught and effectively preventing increase of shaft power even if an induction motor is used as a drive source. SOLUTION: This pump device is provided with a straightening vane 23 inside of a suction casing 22 provided on an upstream side of an impeller 18. A plurality of straightening vanes 24, 25 having different axial projection heights with an interval in a circumference direction are arranged on an inner circumference surface of the suction casing 22 in a cantilever arrangement to keep flow direction distribution on a cross section of the suction casing 22 in a predetermined elevation angle to the impeller 18.
