PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image detecting system by which an image having proper density and contrast is always obtained without being influenced by radiographing condition and individual difference of solid detecting elements. SOLUTION: A solid radiation detector 10 detects a radiation bearing image information and outputs analog image signal S. An A/D convertor 11 converts the image signal S to digital image data D0. A characteristic determining means 12 which analyzes, for instance by using a cumulative histogram etc., the digital image signal D0 and determines a characteristic of standardization processing to be carried out so as to be a proper density and contrast. A standardization processing means 13 carries out standardization processing according to the characteristic of standardization processing to output image data D1 after the standardization processing.
